Better When Broken

eggs
a fever
the waves
a seed casing
water
morning
day
horses
rules
norms
buds
silence
the mold
a pattern
bread
taboos
bad habits
new ground
the fast
records
the seal
wedding glasses
pinatas
hearts

I wrote this list poem after a discussion with my friend Bob led me to think about all the things that we break on purpose, even though "break" usually has a negative connotation. Leave me a comment if you can think of others.

  1. breaking into show business

    may lead to a

    a breakout performance

    which could be

    breaking news

    on Entertainment Tonight

  2. A break dancer might break the bank at Foxwoods after breaking in lucky dancing shoes.

  3. Chains
Skin of a fruit (sort of like seed)
Noses of people we don't like (ok, that's just mean)
    Mazletov glasses at weddings
    inhibitions
    molds
    break into a sweat
    pinatas

and now I'm going to be thinking about this all night!
